You Pick — Heavyweight Tee

The menu has become an accordion maze in this heavyweight tee design. Two diners stand at opposite ends, each generously pointing the decision toward the other. Somewhere in the middle, one green pea waits on a blue plate. It has arrived early and is beginning to suspect it should have made other plans.

You both said you would eat anything, which sounded wonderfully compatible until somebody proposed a restaurant. Anything apparently has several exceptions, one recent history with noodles, and a complicated relationship with the word brunch. Suggestions travel back and forth, becoming more thoughtful and less useful. At some point you begin considering places that are currently closed.

The illustration gives this tiny negotiation far too much architecture. There must be an exit, but choosing one would require a decision, and you were hoping the other person might have a preference.
