Tumble — Heavyweight Crewneck

In the photograph you are wearing a color you claim never to wear. There is quite a lot of it. It appears to be going very well with your hair, your drink and the expression of someone who has just said something they intend to stand by. Your friend sends the photograph without comment, which is an unnecessarily accomplished form of comment.

You remember the evening before you remember the outfit. The room was too warm. Somebody kept opening a window that somebody else kept closing. There was an argument about music, and a very good hour when the argument stopped because the music had become difficult to talk over. You had a fine time. Apparently you did not need to be dressed like your present description of yourself.

You enlarge the photograph. The color is still excellent.

A few days later you try the broad crewneck with the trousers you usually reserve for quieter things. You turn sideways, consider the sleeves, then put the trousers you had planned to wear back where they came from. You have remembered something you like. It would be a pity to give it a committee meeting.

Your friend asks whether the photograph was useful. You say you mainly appreciated being reminded of the room. They ask which room. You send a picture of the outfit. They reply that they remember it now, although you are fairly sure this is their first visit.
