You are allowed to stop without discovering a reason that sounds impressive afterward. There does not have to be a view, a landmark, or a person with a tiny microphone asking what you learned. Perhaps a very small creature is carrying a very large crumb across the pavement. Perhaps you would like to see how that goes. You have interests.

At first you are merely observing. Then the crumb reaches a crack and you become emotionally available. There are several possible approaches. None of them require your supervision, which you continue to provide. A cyclist passes. A delivery is completed. Somewhere, people are getting a surprising amount done. You and the crumb are dealing with a more complicated afternoon, and you would prefer not to be measured against them.

Eventually it makes it over. Or disappears somewhere you cannot follow without causing concern. Either way, you can continue your walk having spent a little time on something that will never appear in a useful answer to 'How was your day?' It was good, actually. The sun was out. There was a crumb. You would have had to be there, and for a while you were.
